Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki was speaking ahead of a major conference in Warsaw focusing on development challenges facing the country.

“From an economic point of view, Poland can be a country of highly advanced technology, one that sets certain trends," Morawiecki told Polish Radio when asked where he sees Poland 10 to 20 years from now.

He also told the public broadcaster that his country has “the legitimacy to propose a new social contract based on solidarity” and more even and fairer distribution of national wealth.

A series of debates by politicians, economists and academics was scheduled to begin in Warsaw on Thursday to chart out future paths for Poland.

The annual conference, known as the Poland - Great Project Congress, is a meeting where "economic ideas for the future are forged," Morawiecki told Polish Radio.
